Fitness Trackers Are Doing You Any Justice!
Fitness trackers are definitely not worth the money.
- Some can argue that fitness trackers are worth it, but take this into consideration.
There are many different fitness trackers, but none of them are really going to help you out in achieving your goals.
- If you wonder why this is the case, just ask yourself why you never see fitness models, physique models or even bodybuilders using them?
The answer is pretty simple.
They don’t do much for you other than guess how many calories you are burning. The keyword here is “guessing.”
This Is Why You Should Not Buy A Fitness Tracker
Everybody has a different body type, everyone has a different metabolism.
That is the main reason fitness trackers are not worth the money, or really just your time in general.
What you need to do is find out how many calories you burn without exercise first.
- You can find this out the lazy and get a (very rough) estimate by multiplying your body weight in lbs by 11.
For example, if you weigh 200 lbs, you burn around 2,200 lbs per day just by being alive.
There is a more complex way to find out your exact Basal Metabolic Rate, but there is no need to focus on minutia.
That is the number one mistake people make when they are looking to get on a program, and just lose weight in general.
You have not been working out, and you have not been preparing your meals.
- Now you want to get a calorie counter on your wrist, and that will be the answer to all of your problems. This is just plain stupid.
Fitness Trackers Will Not Motivate You To Work Out!
If you haven’t heard by now, the most important thing you need to lose weight, is your own motivation to do so.
- People get these fitness trackers, and get motivated to workout for a few days, only to look at their stupid watch or app every 2 minutes.
They go home, eat clean, and feel like they accomplished something.
What people do not understand about fitness trackers, are the reasons fitness trackers are not worth it!
Here are some reasons.
- Fitness trackers do NOT know if you are working out on an empty stomach.
- If you are working out first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, you will be burning more calories than the tracker will suggest.
Fitness trackers do not track the calories your muscles burn throughout the entire day, post workout.
They only track your heart rate and also some stupid way of tracking steps.
Muscles feed on calories post workout as well, so the calories burned that are reported are definitely not correct.
- At the end of the day, walking around counting steps is way less effective than lifting weights.
For some reason, women mostly, do not think that is the case, and are also scared to lift weights and scared of getting “too big.”
What Works Better Than Fitness Trackers?
As I mentioned above, the best thing to do is know how many calories you burn just by being alive, based on your current weights.
Once you know that, you can assume an hour of working out with high intensity will burn about 500 calories.
If you are a person that burns 2,000 calories per day, and then work out.
- That puts you at 1,500 per day, or a 500 calories deficit.
This means that you now can eat 2,000 calories in one day, and still be on your way to losing weight.
This is how that looks mathematically.
- Naturally burn 2,000 calories without working out = -2,000 calories
- Burn 500 calories in the gym = -500
- Total calories wasted = 2,500
- Eating 2,000 calories in one day = +2,000
- Total = – 500 calories for the day!
- That is all you need in order to make progress!
The one thing you can do for certain, is count the food calories that you consume.
That will be far more effective and far more accurate than any other fitness tracker.
If you don’t know by now, fitness trackers are nothing but another gimmick for people who are looking to lose weight.
- Those people are also the easiest to manipulate, and those people are also the ones that will never make any progress.
When Should I Buy A Fitness Tracker?
You should buy a fitness tracker if you are already fit.
That would be my suggestion. It’s something cool to have, and if you are already fit, than it’s just a bonus.
Once again, what you will find is that people who are not fit are the ones that usually buy these gadgets looking for a quick fix.
- You were fat before you bought it, you walked around before you bought it, this will just estimate how many steps you took and nothing more.
You should use the mirror in your house as your fitness tracker.
If you are not seeing less fat pretty frequently, you are just eating too much food.
Cut down the food below your basal metabolic rate and you will see progress.
What Should You Do Instead?
You honestly don’t even have to count calories in order to lose weight.
- I have personally never in my life counted calories, and was just able to go by what I look like.
All you have to know are 2 numbers. The first is that the average person burns about 2,000 calories per day, just by being alive.
The second is, that you have to consume less than those 2,000 calories per day in order to lose weight.
If you make an effort to eat fruit during the day, and stay away from junk, you will lose weight.
- Everyone knows what junk food is, it’s the 21st century!
Stop eating junk and work out hard. It’s a very simple formula. You do not need any stupid watch to make you think you are losing fat!
Fitness Trackers Could Be Bad For Your Health
This can come as a surprise, but fitness trackers are known to become addictive.
People get purely obsessed with monitoring every single move they make, and it is causing harm.
When people get addicted to these gadgets, they also get addicted to the challenges that are in these apps.
- There are daily running challenges, eating, walking and who knows what else.
People who are addicted, do not give their body a rest and experience severe overtraining.
You should find a good workout program and eat healthy. Give your body rest, and don’t be a freak.
